We are ideally situated just off the Junction 59 from the A1 and within easy reach of cities, coast and countryside.  The area is steeped in history and there is so much to see and do.  There is the magical city of Durham with its historical cathedral and castle to explore and close by are Raby Castle, Barnard Castle and Crook Hall to name just a few historical places.  The iconic Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is certainly a must if you are in the area as well as a visit to the world-famous Beamish museum telling the story of the people of North East England during the Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian periods.  If its City life you are after then head to Newcastle with its fashionable shops and vibrant nightlife. Europe’s largest shopping centre, the Metrocentre is just outside Newcastle and if you are looking for one stop where you can shop, dine and choose from a number of leisure facilities.
